1 Privacy

TransFollow respects the privacy of all users of their site and ensures that the personal information you provide is treated confidentially. We use your data to make the services run as quickly and easily as possible. For the rest, we will only use this data with your permission. 

TransFollow uses the data collected to provide the following services to its customers:

  • If you create an account, we will need your name, e-mail address and telephone number to create an account and to inform you about the progress of the electronic waybill. 
  • You must always sign up for the newsletter and give permission for the newsletter to be sent. When you register, your e-mail address will be requested. If you have signed up for the newsletter yourself, you will receive a maximum of twice a month the newsletter containing the latest news and information. 
  • Information about the use of the site, the portal and/or the app and the feedback we receive from visitors help us to further develop and improve the site. You can give feedback by sending an e-mail to info@TransFollow.org. 

 

1.1 Storage of personal data

Data provided for the purpose of creating an account, preparing a transport or buying credits will be stored for a maximum of 7 years. If you have signed up for the newsletter, this information will be kept until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

2 Other parties

We do not give your personal data to other companies or bodies, except if this is necessary for the service or if the law requires us to do so. For example, TransFollow allows for the exchange of personal data between users. The electronic waybills (TF Waybills) may contain various personal data about (personnel employed by) the sender, carrier and recipient, which each of the parties must necessarily be able to access.  The graphical representation of the system ensures that the user is given as much insight as possible into what personal data is stored and is visible to other persons. 

When TransFollow receives personal information from users through third parties, for example because your own software is connected to TransFollow, TransFollow cannot guarantee that this third party software deals with these parties in a reliable and secure manner. Users are advised to read the privacy statement of these third parties. 

Some partners are located outside the European Union, such as social media partners. By means of social media buttons on our website, the administrators of these services collect your personal data.

 

3 Cookies

We use cookies when offering electronic (online) services. A cookie is a small file that is sent along with the pages of this website and is stored on the hard disk of your computer by your browser. We use cookies to remember your settings and preferences, but also to optimize the use and relevance of our online activities. You can delete cookies from your browser at any time.

3.1 The type of cookies we use on our website

3.1.1. Permanent cookies

We use permanent cookies which we can use to recognize you when you visit our website again. As a result, the website can be specifically set to your preferences. Even if you have given us permission to place cookies, we can remember this by means of a cookie. This means you don't have to repeat your preferences over and over again, so you save time and can make more pleasant use of our website. Permanent cookies can be deleted via the settings of your browser.

3.1.2. Session cookies

With the help of a session cookie we can see which parts of the website you have visited. This enables us to adapt our service as much as possible to the surfing behaviour of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted as soon as you close your web browser.

 

3.2 Google cookies

Through our website cookies are placed by the American company Google, among other things, to keep track of and to obtain reports on how visitors use our website. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence on this.

3.2.1. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to analyze how users behave on the www.TransFollow.org website and to determine whether our Google Adwords advertisements are effective. The information obtained, including the IP address of your computer or laptop, is stored on a Google server. Google will use this information to report to us on how we can optimise the website in terms of visitor usage. 

Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence on this. We have not allowed Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

3.3. Social Media Cookies

3.3.1 Facebook cookies

The information that Facebook collects is anonymized as much as possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Facebook on servers in the United States. Facebook has to comply with the Safe Harbor principles and are affiliated to the Safe Harbor programme of the American Department of Commerce. This implies an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

3.3.2. LinkedIn

This cookie allows you to share an article directly from the website.

3.3.3. Twitter

This cookie allows you to share an article directly from the website. This cookie keeps track of which products you are viewing. This means that this product can later be shown in relevant advertisements.

3.3.4. Youtube

This cookie allows you to share a video directly from the website.

3.3.5. Google+ plugin

This cookie allows you to share an article directly from the website.

4 Security

The security of personal data is of great importance to us. To protect your privacy, we take the following measures:

  • Access to personal data is protected by a user name and password.
  • Access to personal data is protected by a user name and a login token. 
  • Upon receipt, the data is stored in a separate, protected system. 
  • We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which protects all information between you and our website when you enter personal data.

5 Changes to this privacy statement

If our service and/or product changes, we must, of course, also amend the privacy statement. Always pay attention to the date above and check regularly to see if there are any new versions. We will do our best to announce changes separately as well.

  • access to the precise personal data we have
  • The correction of errors.
  • The removal of outdated personal data.

  • Objections to a particular use.
  • Make sure that you always state clearly who you are, so that we can be sure that we do not modify or delete data of the wrong person.

If you have signed up for the newsletter yourself and no longer wish to receive it, you can always unsubscribe via the link in the newsletter. Each newsletter also contains a link to check and correct your personal data.

 

7 Right to transferability / data portability

This right implies that a data subject must be able to obtain the data from a controller in a structured, customary and machine-readable form and has the right to transfer them, or have them transferred directly, from one controller to another without being harmed except where this would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others. A data subject shall have the right to transfer as far as data supplied by him or her are concerned.

 

8. Lodging a complaint

If you feel that we are not helping you in the right way, you have the right to complain to the regulator. This is called the Personal Data Authority.
